ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN

VAVA FEATURED IN ELLE DECOR ITALIA

Access below the full ELLE DECOR article with a special mention to VAVA’s DNA connection to the Bauhaus and Minimalism aesthetics. At VAVA, we believe that Bauhaus laid the foundation for pure design to be used to its full potential.

Iconic buildings and great architecture are often the source of inspiration for the eyewear world: from aesthetics to technical solutions, from macro forms to mini-projects. Giving life to small architectural objects, through which we are invited to rediscover cities and the world.

BAUHAUS INSPIRATION – the facade of the MET Breuer in New York.

Designed in 1966 as the home of the Whitney Museum of Art, the iconic building was rebaptized in honour of its designer Marcel Breuer after its acquisition by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Its brutalist lines and Bauhaus principles are a source of inspiration for VAVA.

VAVA eyewear is handmade in Italy using eco-friendly materials: Barberini lenses and Mazzucchelli acetate frames (bioplastic produced from cotton fibres and wood-pulp fibres manufactured using an innovative formulation). Made of aerospace aluminium, the hinges are ultra-light and display excellent physical and mechanical properties.
