Our mission is to create the most unique and environmentally friendly products possible to make the world a more sustainable place.

The factories are located in Treviso, north of Italy, surrounded by astonishing mountains and forests. The region of Treviso is known for its wine, food, history, and nature. This is a region with a strong network of small family-owned companies that produce niche local products. The standard of living is high and the rate of unemployment very low. Our suppliers are integrated in this network of small factories that exist in perfect harmony with the natural surroundings.

Acetate frames are an eco–friendly product. We pride ourselves on the high recyclability and biodegradability of the acetate line, we are committed to an end-to-end life cycle management approach.

The frame of the glasses is made of cellulose acetate material from the Italian brand Mazzuchelli. A product of outstanding quality, considered by many the best acetate in the world.

VAVA is using their new and exclusive “eco-friendly” line M49, a type of cellulose acetate produced from cotton and wood-pulp fibers manufactured under a new formulation using substances from renewable sources. All the aesthetical and performance characteristics of the traditional acetate are preserved.

Frames are made of aluminum, an extremely light material with great physical and mechanical properties, produced in Italy using a cutting-edge industrial cutting / milling process. While remarkably resistant to corrosion, aluminum can also be recycled over and over again.

The aluminum frames are made at small family-owned Italian factory, as we pride ourselves in avoiding mass production. VAVA also uses exclusively Barberini lenses across all models in the aluminum series. Another great feature is the inclusion of 100% rubber nose pads, which provide a softer feeling and neutral temperature all year long.  The acetate temple tips while further contributing to soften the feeling, also contribute to improve the adjustment of the spectacles.

The Nylon series blends fashion and sports into an iconic collection of 3D printed eyewear: the Red Label. This is the only line that is produced in Belgium.

Using state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and contemporary design principles, VAVA is creating frames that perform as well as their looks. For this project, a custom premium finish was developed to reflect the VAVA brand identity while making use of the benefits of modern technology.

The project not only saves energy and resources but also adds new levels of meaning and value. The collection is 3D printed in nylon, using a process called laser sintering consisting of a laser that selectively binds together nylon particles, building the frames layer by layer, only using the minimum material required.

Another key aspect of the brand is the use of mineral crystal lenses. This reinforces the unique nature of the brand. VAVA believes that only the natural purity of the glass can ensure the best optical precision of a lens and the inalterability of its characteristics in time, along with its typical and unique transparency.

VAVA uses exclusively Barberini lenses across all models in the acetate series. For many years, Barberini has been synonym of excellence in the optical glass sun lenses segment. Barberini was among the first companies in the field to achieve the UNI EN ISO 14001 Environmental Certification, meaning that all its manufacturing plants have zero-waste status.
