LESS IS MORE

Constructively simple with phenomenal impact, eliminating superfluous compositional elements.

THE FRAME

VAVA designs are influenced by the Bauhaus and the minimalism.

We believe the Bauhaus was the real foundation to simple design used to its full potential.

The simple shapes are the square, rectangle, circle and triangle. These are the basic forms that are used as the foundation of VAVA designs.

The concept is closely linked to the “post-industrial” society in which we live, and the growing belief of belonging to a “post-human” age.  We play around people’s imaginary and “science fiction”. Therefore, we are very much inspired by futuristic unisex characters. The unisex figure helped us to create a minimal silhouette and a monochromatic figure.

THE HINGE

VAVA hinge is very much influenced by SOL LEWITT structures originates from the cube. Major works of this American Artist, linked to Conceptual Art and Minimalism, have deeply influenced the Minimalism in Fashion and as well VAVA, specially the basic building blocks of the artist’s three-dimensional works.

Inside the CUBE rotates a CYLINDER in a fully integrated mechanism.

It’s a cube made of high quality design meta, produced by a high grade industrial cutting process, developed in close cooperation with our supplier. We use aerospace aluminum, a super light material with great physical and mechanical properties.

THE LENSES
Base zero project

We  are unique in using flat lenses across all range. Aesthetically flat lenses hard back to industrial design of the 80’s, where geometrical flat forms were considered vogue. We also consider the flat lenses a “glass-wall” on a velocified society,  so the user can retain a certain dose of asceticism and renunciation.
